Drugstore Haul

One of my favourite things to do is browsing the drugstore aisles. I could spend hours and thousands of pounds in Boots and Superdrug. This haul is the result of two trips and it's a mix of haircare, skincare, body care and makeup. A bit of everything really. My first trip's purpose was to find the new L'Oréal Paradise Mascara, which already has its own post on the blog, so I didn't feature it here.

I am running low on my Pixi Glow Tonic and this Glycolic Tonic from Superdrug's own Naturally Radiant brand caught my eye. It has the same,  5% of Glycolic acid, as well as Kiwi Fruit and Mulberry extracts which promise brightening effects. It sounds great and I have high hopes for this one. It comes in a smaller volume but also much cheaper than the Glow Tonic so I am really curious if it will be a dupe or good alternative to replace the Pixi product. It is a new product and I couldn't even find it on Superdrug's website yet, so maybe it's better to look for it in store.

I am really close to using up my current eye cream so I picked up the Nourishing Eye Cream from Superdrug's Vitamin E range. I have used this before so it won't be a surprise product. It's nothing groundbreaking but it does the job. It's hydrating under the eyes, works well under makeup, has a great, travel-friendly packaging and it won't break the bank. Tick, tick, tick.

I got a pack of these Totalcare tongue cleaners because my current one needs to be replaced. Dental care is really important and in my opinion that includes getting rid of plaque, debris and bacteria on our tongues that can end in smelly breaths...

I picked up the Daily Facial Scrub from the Yes To Grapefruit range because I ran out of it and I get paranoid when I don't have this in my stash. It's my most loved cleanser, I wrote more about it in this post.

In the Marble Arch Superdrug, I never walk towards the end of the store because I always assumed it's only the pharmacy section but this time I did and they had a small shelf of products which will be discontinued in the store. I've found this Palmer's Natural Bronze gradual tanning spray there and I wanted to give it a go. I am rubbish at self-tanning but don't seem to give up on it. I tried the body lotion version from this brand last year and it turned out fine so I hope this won't be orange and streaky either. I love the chocolatey smell of Palmer's products, and their self-tanners have the same delicious scent!

We ran out of body wash a week or so ago and I've been using my boyfriend's shower gel which doesn't have a strictly male scent but I wanted to pick up something a bit more feminine anyway. My choice fell on the Dove Sweet Cream with Peony body wash purely because it smelled divine and it was only £1.

As much as I love trying new makeup and skincare, I'm the opposite when it comes to my hair. If I find something that works I stick with it for years. I only buy these products when they are on offer so I always keep an eye out for them.

I use the same Dove Pure Care Dry Oil shampoo and conditioner for years and somehow I got through the shampoo faster than the conditioner so I grabbed one from Superdrug. This range always seems to be on offer there, while Boots sells it for full price which is around £6.

I also like to use a hair mask once or twice a week depending on how my hair feels and I alternate between two Lee Stafford products. I either use the Hair Growth Treatment or the Coco Loco Mask, both are great in my opinion. One tub is only enough for 4-5 uses so I get through them quite fast though. This hair mask was on offer for £3,49 while normally it's double so I grabbed one. This coconut mask smells amazing(if you like coconut, obviously), hydrates the hair and makes it more manageable.

I hate the hassle of washing my hair and waiting for it to dry so I try to go without washing as long as it doesn't feel embarrassing. I've been using this Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Bare fragrance which smells fresh but it's not overpowering. I like to smell of my perfume, not my dry shampoo. I have tried many dry shampoos but I always come back to this because it not only disguises that your hair is due a wash but it gives volume and it's not sticky like many other dry shampoos tend to be.

Although Nip and Fab came out with its makeup range months ago I didn't get a chance to check the products in person until now. I picked up this white foundation mixer in hope to use up some of my foundations that are way too dark for my skin tone.

When I'm browsing in Boots I usually check two lipsticks if they have them in stock: Soap&Glory's Nudist and Seventeen's Beehive because both of them are perfect everyday lipstick shades for me and since I used them up (see them in my Makeup Declutter post) I've been wanting to replace them. This time I was lucky and found one perfectly untouched and packaged Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive! I let out a little squeak in the store, I almost couldn't believe my eyes. It's a beautiful pinky-nude shade for under £5. I absolutely adore it.

Another repurchase was this Essie Gel Couture nail polish in Bubbles Only. My first bottle of this is too thick and gloopy to use anymore so I wanted another one. It is a great formula in a perfect, elegant, deep red shade. I wrote a post about why this is my favourite nail polish range, read it here!

Do you use any of these products or do you have any favourites from the drugstore you would recommend?

  2. Hi Charlotte! I love hauls too! (Guess I'm just very nosy, haha!)
If you see this lipstick in Boots you need to buy it! I have been on a hunt for it for months! :D
Oh, these tongue cleaners are way more effective than the ones usually on the back of toothbrushes, they make a real difference in my dental routine.
    Xx, Panna
