Mascara Diaries: L'Oréal False Lash Sculpt

I love a good mascara and trying out new ones is kind of my thing. I rarely am disappointed in L'Oréal mascaras, so I thought to give the new False Lash Sculpt Mascara a go.

This one I found exceptionally intriguing because of all the benefits it promises: ''Lines and defines eyes for a full volume, no-gaps lash look. The sculpting brush lines the waterline for a tightlining effect with no gaps and sculpts out lashes, defining them to reveal sculpted looking lashes from every angle.''
Well, it almost sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?
This mascara has the most unusual brush I've ever seen on a wand. It has only one curved side with very short plastic bristles on either side of a long triangular shaped head. The size and shape of the brush helps you to get right in the roots and get the tightlining effect that it promises.

Unfortunately this brush doesn't work with my lashes very well.
I find that it picks up way too much product in the little gap between the bristles, which results in globs of mascara sitting on your roots that you try to distribute otherwise you are left with a defined lashline, and lashes stuck together in a big clumpy mess.
I think the product that comes out on the brush is more than enough for the application on both the top and bottom lashes.

- tightlines
- lengthens
- long-lasting
- doesn't crumble or smudge
- easy to remove

- clumpy, spider lashes
- not volumizing
- makes my lashes look straight

Unfortunately, I'm not the biggest fan of this mascara.
I think it looks alright from a fair distance but from close it looks way too clumpy. The formula is good, it's not too wet nor too dry but the brush doesn't separate my lashes or make them volumized which is what I'm looking for in a good mascara. It is lengthening and I really like how my lower lashes look, but overall I just don't love it.

It is not a bad mascara, but knowing how other drugstore mascaras can make my lashes look much better with less work, makes me  slightly disappointed in this product. For me it's a 6/10.

If you want to try this mascara it's currently available for £9,99 in Boots but L'oréal is on 3 for 2 at the moment!

Have you tried this mascara? What is your opinion about it? Did it work for you?
